Prioritising Health & Well-being
A COVID-19 update from Eye Academy
For the safety of our patients and staff, we have taken the difficult decision, after 30+ years of continuous community service across our business, to temporarily close our practice doors for all routine appointments.
An emergency service is still available. Please contact us to arrange an appointment, if:
- your vision has suddenly changed or become blurry
- you have a painful or red eye
- you have been advised to attend this practice by NHS 111 or another healthcare professional for urgent eye care
- you have broken or lost your glasses and need a replacement pair to function
- you have a problem with your contact lenses
We can then assess how best to meet your needs.
EYE EMERGENCY ADVICE LINE
As the NHS clinical burden continues to grow, we will be providing telephone triage and advice to anyone we are able to assist. This includes our patient-family, their friends and anyone who reaches out for assistance. This service will be provided free of charge and is open to anyone.
Contact Lens Information
Contact Lenses can be reordered using the emergency line telephone number
We will endeavour to continue with contact lens supply as best possible, but our usual efficiency may not be maintained due to an increased reliance on third parties. We would also stress the importance of responsible contact lens wear and hygiene. Immediate cessation of lens wear with any ocular irritation/redness/soreness/light sensitivity or discharge and call for advice.
For those where an examination is necessary, we will be open by appointment only, so please do call if you feel anxious or concerned about any eye or vision concerns, if you have lost or broken your spectacles, have developed new symptoms, or for any other situation where you need our help.
With best wishes,
Romana and the entire team from Eye Academy, David Faulder, Ellis &Thompson, Underwood Eyecare, Peepers Opticians and Niall O’Kane Optometrists
Please keep safe, we look forward to seeing you on the other side when life returns back to normal.
