Oliver Peoples Eyewear
Sought After Vintage Design and Luxury Feel
Founded in 1987, the creators of Oliver Peoples found somewhat of a muse by means of an old estate collection of vintage eyewear purchased in the late 1980’s. In fact their very name came from the original owners signature on a receipt and the first OP collection was named in his honour.
This vintage aesthetic waved a timely farewell to the current 1980s’s style, their geometric shapes and garish colours replaced with sophisticated, timeless styles, always making use of their enviously simple yet sophisticated array of tortoise ell hues.
They saw their quintessentially 1950’s collection of vintage frames and transformed it into something now synonymous with the late 80’s/early 90’s, they defined a new category in eye wear, they were intellectual and preppy, styled for expressive individuals, characterised by subtle details, vintage aesthetics and their logo free concept allowing the finished product to speak for itself.
Oliver People's roots are firmly located in California, where all their frames are still designed to this very day; they have a distinctive culture, always passionate to produce a spectacle frame using the best materials. They aren’t afraid of embracing new technologies if it improves the end product; each frame is handmade using a technique that combines both technological advancements and human expertise.
