Contact Lens Fitting

At Eye Academy we pride ourselves in being able to fit a variety of contact lenses from the most popular daily disposable contact lenses to custom -made complex lenses.

Many people have been told that they cannot wear contact lenses for various reasons such as they have astigmatism or dry eye. Our Optometrists have the knowledge and technology available to help almost anyone to wear contact lenses. There is also no age limit for wearing contact lenses and anyone who is willing is able to try.

Who can wear contact lenses?

If you have any of the following eye conditions, our Optometrists will find the best contact lens option for you:

  • Myopia ( Short Sighted)
  • Hyperopia ( Far Sighted)
  • Astigmatism
  • Presbyopia ( Need reading glasses)
  • Post laser eye surgery
  • Corneal degenerations
  • Corneal Grafts
  • Keratoconus

How do I go about getting contact lenses?

All you need is an up to date prescription and you can book an appointment for a contact lens fitting with us.

What happens next?

  • Your Optometrist will perform various tests to assess the health and integrity of the front of your eye and tear layer. They will also discuss your lifestyle and needs and come up with the best contact lens option for you.
  • Once this has been decided, a set of trial contact lenses will be ordered and fitted for you.
  • Next, you will have a contact lens teach where we will show you how to confidently insert, remove and care for the lenses.
  • When you have comfortably worn the lenses for the suggested length of time, the Optometrist will do a final After Care check to ensure that your vision and ocular surface health are optimal.
  • After the lenses have been signed off, you are free to order a supply as you wish.
